Forseti is a pro se civil procedure companion for Android. This policy explains what Forseti does and does not do with your information.
1. No accounts, no backend
Forseti does not require you to create an account. We do not operate servers that receive your case data, notes, bookmarks, deadlines, drafts, scans, or uploaded rule PDFs. That information stays on your device unless you export a backup or share a file using Android’s normal share sheet.
2. What is stored on your device
Forseti may store, locally only:
- Case workspace — files and folders you add to a case profile
- Notes, bookmarks, and deadlines you create
- Uploaded rules — PDFs you choose to keep on the device
- App preferences — including in-app notices accepted, first-run tour completion, dark-mode preference, and your chosen app language (selected once at first launch; not sent to us)
- Trial and purchase state — managed with Google Play Billing on your device (see section 6)
We do not receive copies of this data.
3. Camera and on-device OCR
Forseti uses your device’s camera only when you open the document scanner or related capture flows. Images are processed on your device with Google ML Kit text recognition. Forseti does not upload camera images, recognized text, or OCR results to Asvaettir Labs.
4. Notifications
Forseti schedules local notifications for deadlines you create. We are not notified when your reminders fire or what they contain.
5. Network use
Forseti uses the internet only for purposes you initiate or that are clearly public, for example:
- Downloading official, public rules and forms from government or court sources
- Opening reference links in your browser (for example Federal Judicial Center pages and court websites listed in the app)
- Google Play for trial status, purchases, and updates
When you open an external link, your browser and that site’s policies apply. Forseti does not pass your case files or personal notes to those sites.
We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or usage telemetry for Asvaettir Labs.
6. Trial and purchase
Forseti may offer a time-limited free trial and an optional one-time unlock through Google Play Billing. Payment handling is performed by Google. Forseti does not see or store your payment card or bank details.
7. App language and localization
At first launch you choose a display language (English, Spanish, or Simplified Chinese) for menus, guides, and in-app help. That choice is stored on your device and is not transmitted to us. Official court PDFs and bundled federal forms remain in English regardless of UI language.
Translations are not certified and may be inaccurate. English rules control. You are solely responsible for verifying information before you file. See our Terms of Use.
8. Backups
If you use the in-app backup feature, Forseti writes an archive to a location you choose on your device or cloud storage you control. We do not receive backup files.
9. Children
Forseti is intended for adult self-represented litigants and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country).
10. Terms of Use
Use of Forseti is also governed by our Terms of Use, including disclaimers of legal advice, translation accuracy, and limitation of liability.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the effective date at the top when we do.
